Advancing Better ALS Insights with Genetic Testing
Challenge
The ALS Identified program, sponsored by Biogen and offered through Invitae, facilitates access to genetic testing to identify patients who may have a genetic predisposition for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Foster & Create was asked to design a brand identity that would uniquely represent the ALS Identified initiative and work in tandem with the Invitae brand identity in select scenarios.
Solution
The logo design features an intertwined double helix of parallel strands, combining a visual reference to both the ALS genes to be identified and the muscle fibers whose ultimate loss of control is the main symptom of ALS.
Intertwined in the forest green helix, is a bright, optimistic ribbon. The identification of genetic markers associated with ALS provides patients better insight into their condition and the hope for new targeted therapies.
The brand guidelines serve as a foundation for the development of coordinated print and digital communications.
